I can't tell you how angry I am with author at this moment. Be aware that if you read this series, it is NOT a romance. It is a dark urban fantasy with a very sad ending.

Picks up 12 years after the first book in the series. Same main characters. Highlights the brutality of Kin culture and the intolerance and hatred of the humans for Kin and Lesser-Bred. All wrapped up in a who-done-it. Alex is now a cop in a different state, Mike is a suspect in out-of-town serial murders.

“I mean, lots of Humans smell like food, but you...you really smell...good...really good.” And his mouth curled again like he was thinking about something sinful.

By nature, Humans want a level playing field, a utopia of existence where everyone lives happily together and gets along. For Kin only the strong live. If you are weak, you find a way to live or you die.

Oh good. Don't let me get comfortable, just smack me upside with a 2X4 straight off the bat. Lovely.
