At one point, the author says that some words become offensive over time, but her examples were slurs. Slurs have always been offensive, it’s just that the society (white people) didn’t care until now. One of her examples was the sports team named a slur for Native Americans. That was always offensive. That was a terrible example for her to use. Side eye.
