At one point, the author says that some words become offensive over time, but her examples were slurs. Slurs have always been offensive, it’s just that the society (white people) didn’t care until now. One of her examples was the sports team named a slur for Native Americans. That was always offensive. That was a terrible example for her to use. Side eye.

Not one of the oldest words we still use today being an insult for women…disappointed but not really surprised. And yes, it’s been an insult nearly as long as it’s been a word. Again, not surprised.
