Status Updates From Hässlichkeit

Only while reading noticed it’s og written in German and I am reading it in English -_-

So far I'm loving the writing, but it's not "wow"-ing me yet so far. Hilal talks about her experience with her perception of her own self and how ugliness has distanced her from the women in her bloodline. while Hilal was mostly repetitive, i still found myself enjoying her lyrical writing. so far so good. the visuals were also a nice touch.

Ich hatte die Ehre und das Vergnügen, Moshtari bei der graduate student lecture in unserem department im vergangenen akademischen Jahr zu treffen, und eine signierte Ausgabe (in der englischen Übersetzung) geschenkt zu bekommen. Ihr Vortrag war toll, die Gespräche danach und davor und drumherum waren toll, ich liebe das Konzept des Buches – aber hoooo boy, I'm struggling with the translated edition!
