I used to be subscribed to the Pennygirl book club - you get a horse-themed package with a magazine and a book related to horses. Now, the quality of the writing in those books is generally below average, but I had a lot of fun with them nonetheless.
I grew out of it eventually, and have a lot of unread Pennygirl books.
So for nostalgia's sake, I guess, and I was up for something to read in one sitting.

This book is awesome! I remember when I was younger and being involved with horse riding lessons! I always wanted to learn how to barrel race and I wanted to have a cowboy as a boyfriend. This book takes me back to my early years. I love the story plot it is simple but yet very enjoyable. I highly recommend this book.

This book is very good so far. It is pretty straight forward with some insight from the narrator, Bobby Jo. Bobby Jo is a 11th grader who just bought her first horse. I used to have horses so I can somewhat relate to her from getting one. It takes me back to my childhood when I was into horses so much that horses were my life. I also wanted to be a cowgirl and own a farm similar to Bobby Jo and her family.

A surprisingly good and entertaining novel! B.J. is witty, sarcastic and down to earth, so I just had to love her voice. The relationship between her and Cole was fun to read and the plot quite interesting. However, it was just waaayyy too short.

Oh wow! A character that accepts that horses are sold to slaughterhouses and doesn't want to buy every single one to save them. That's a first.
