Status Updates From Black Cats and Broken Mirrors

Front-Page McGuffin... All I can say is ugh! How many times are you gonna set the stage, compare to elsewhere, and say not this place before gettin to the point? It was like he couldn't decide how to set the scene, so he just piled all his ideas on top of each other...

I decided not to waste anymore time on "Step On A Crack". That story nearly ruined this book for me! :(

"Step on the Crack" is awful! I am struggling to get through it, but may just end up skipping the rest! "...the words, read continuously like some ancient evocation, let her pass through a lettered wall from here to there." (p237) Those words (in describing books) were the only words of any value in this story, thus far. They seem out of place as if stolen from another mouth!

"Frogged" has to be one of my favs! <3

"Soul Cages" was rushed and boring. Zero stars! "Auspicious Stars" was a good read, tho.

Found it! :) "Caretaking" was another goodread worth looking into the author and her other works. It made me want to go for a swim in a wishing fountain, and make a wish! Which I think I'll do the latter, tonight! :)

I lost this book, recently. That makes me sad. I have to put this one on a back burner for a spell. :(

The Song Of A Gift Horse had a great concept. While I was glad to know he wrote other similar stories that I could someday "travel" with, it seemed like he took a pre-existing story, and forced it by repetition to follow the superstition he chose, and fit the theme of the assignment.

Crossroads was a cool beginning. I say "was" instead of "had" because the whole story seemed like merely a first chapter to an entire book. There were a couple errors, too. Such a waste of potential is disappointing.

Cute story encouraging you to NOT follow superstitions. Could've been better though.

"Dead Tired" and "Shards of Glass" are 2 rather enjoyable tales. If you should skip around in this book, I suggest not skipping these 2.
