Status Updates From A Whole Life in Twelve Movi...

Stumbled upon this book, and I love Kathleen Norris's writing so I picked it up. But once I realised it was a list of movies to watch and then essays on those particular movies I was like ehhh nevermind......and then I was like wait. I like watching movies. Wouldn't it be interesting to watch a curated list of good films, then read thoughtful discussion on it???

This is a wonderful companion to the movies the authors recommend. Eleven friends and I have rented a small local theater one afternoon a month for a year so we can watch each movie and have time to mull over the chapter. We’re now halfway through the year and it’s been a very worthwhile experience. Afterwards we head to CeeCee’s Cocktail Lounge to discuss the movie and the related book chapter.
