Status Updates From With Reservations (With or ...

Halfway through this book, and nothing has even happened yet. We know very little more than we did after the first two chapters. Also maddening is the writing. Awkward sentence structures. Confusing dialogue you have to reread to understand who is saying what. Unrealistic responses or banal detail that leaves you wondering why you needed to know that… not a good book.

This book seems to ramble. Nothing worthwhile is ever said and zero progress. All we get is a series of sultry stares and attraction, hot then cold Dom moments, zero progress and no clarity around these characters and who they are supposed to be. Hints dropped, sure. But otherwise it's like we are just circling the drain in this toilet of a novel. A literary "swirly". LOL (though far from literature)

Right from the start we see the FMC Dom and MMC Jesse in an instant-attraction scene, followed immediately by Jesse stealing Dom's book and Dom turning into "Mega Bitch"--the laziest, least sympathetic FMC trope ever to exist. Maddening. Flood tries to rationalize it with a bad morning and pending decision about design school, but it's not enough to explain the degree of her ire. Not a fan of Dom. (the book either)

again this is promising but my hopes aren’t too high
