The first book in the series was a lot better than this one. I feel like this one was missing something. The second half of the book made it more enjoyable but I think as a whole it lacked a good transition coming from the first book.

I have to skim the majority of the book because it’s not as good as the first book.

Did I miss something in the first book?! This whole thing isn’t making sense and I’m this close to skimming parts.

I don’t remember hints of a secret society in the first book even though Grayson was a weirdo. I am definitely docking a star for the secret society stuff because I genuinely don’t care for it in most books. I’m hoping it redeems itself in other areas to make it more enjoyable.
