Status Updates From One in a Million

really good so far but I probably should've read the first book in the series bc theres so many characters, I'm slightly confused lol

i genuinely don’t give a fuck about random ass side characters who barely had scenes getting married and having kids however many months ago. i don’t know them! this is the third time! why is the epilogue the wedding of a dude who had two scenes?

twins aren’t actually something that can run in a family. he is a fraternal twin which means his mother’s cycle drops multiple eggs which is not something he can pass through sperm, it would have to be her mother to give it a chance to run the family. her mom is an identical twin which is spontaneous. she’s having fraternal twins so… yeah. i’m being overly critical.

so the multiple lawsuits are just settling themselves. what was even the point?

i’ve been waiting for her being a famous celebrity to become relevant to the plot because for the most part she could’ve just stayed a fashion designer until this point.

this book just keeps adding more and more characters. they have introduced at least 7 goddamn friends of whitney. why does she need a separate biracial friend with a kid to talk about her life growing up? and why does his sister also have a friend that has a similar experience? why do they both have random workout buddies? it’s realistic but structurally it’s far too many characters to keep track of.

natalie looks like natalie portman? her cousin looks like janelle monáe? y’all can’t just like… write a description?

whitney looks like aaliyah? 🫩 the book is called “one in a million”, what did i expect? also i can see the cover. though the art doesn’t look anything like aaliyah but you give anyone that side part/bang thing and they won’t shut up about you looking like aaliyah. so that’s realistic.

I think this is amazing. My expectations are extremely high and I can relate to both characters. I’m hoping the “third act breakup”…if there is one…doesn’t spoil my 5 star rating.
