Chapter forty-four: Keon Máximo gotta be one of my favourite chapters in the entire trilogy.

Welp. Silvera just changed the gender of a police officer in the middle of a paragraph. And not like in a shifting, genderfluid kind of way. It just changed. The editors did not catch that.
Also, how did Ness know the officer's name?

Wow! I did not expect Silvera to up the violence.
Despite one moment that didn't make sense to me, I feel as if Silvera is finally rounding out Brighton and Emil's characters.
Again, still early, but this is much better than the previous two books so far.

Holy cow, even the logic about whether or not heroes should or should not kill bad people is more nuanced than the previous books.

Brighton actually managed to be menacing without being annoying. I'm cautiously optimistic so far.

It's still early, but besides a few cringe lines it does feel like Adam Silvera has more control of his prose and the characters' thoughts and actions in comparison to the previous two books.

But this love triangle with Wyatt and Ness is annoying.

Okay, there's some interesting plot stuff going on with Mirabelle.

It's been a while since the last book, but an alright start so far.
