Status Updates From Peaceful Parenting

This book is so exhausting. I want so badly for him to get to his message more concisely. He’s acting as if his reader is someone who is not remotely interested in the topic and just goes on haranguing to hammer home his point. And he assumes his long winded point is clear when it, more often than he believes, is not. Just say what you mean clearly and quickly. 🫠

Here’s a shocking fact. Your children don’t owe you obedience. They do not owe you respect. (They owe you nothing) It’s far easier to create imaginary obligations than to earn genuine respect. Than to earn their true love through virtue and affection.

Absolutely no one is immune from the condemnation or the utter moral failure modern society has inflicted upon our children.

“Does society truly love their children?”

I want so badly to say yes. Because of the love I have for my own babies. I know that I must take the red pill.

“If an adult victim of abuse shares the horrors faced, the family will generally be upset with the open mouth of the victim rather than the closed fists of the abuser.” Very jarring introduction so far. I believe it’s true when something awful is exposed that people tend to mistake the person revealing the damage as the one who actually caused it. It’s certainly wrong but is a reality.
