Mat? The dwarf's name is Mat? M.A.T? What, spelling it without a T is different enough? It makes it worse!

I love the voice (and the fact that she named pigeons "Satan's shitters). That's what's keeping me reading, though there are several places where the same word is used twice in one sentence. And his eyes "twinkle" a lot.
