We’re being a little too underhanded with certain things here

I feel like Julian’s characterization just tilted aggressively in one direction and I don’t know what caused that

Now we’re getting a bit more Estelle personality and the boys suddenly seem to like each other but “you’re my best friend and greatest enemy” seems like a HUGE exaggeration

Yeah I feel like this is just picking up now and the first 100 pages or so could have been condensed for a more engaging and well paced story

I feel like the first 50 pages of this could have been combined with the second 50 pages and not much would have changed. This book needs more scene, more Estelle, and the boys need to actually be rivals? Unless the point is that Carter is dramatizing their dynamic. Also is there magic in this world? Not much world building so we don’t know

Absolutely insane to watch this author go from publishing their first ever finished work at like age 14 to getting to THIS point. The cover, the prose, the premise… very cool progression
