It's 278 pages and I spent way too long on this book. I just hated Shannon and Maya so much. And the phony tension for nail-biting moments every few pages? Please. No more

Books that forget details are always my favorite. They're delicious. "She skipped over most of the sex." NEWSFLASH: You slept together once! One time! A single time! "Most of the sex" as if this thing is full of smut. Ha!

I'm just not feeling the relationship between these two. And the dialogue can be so awkward. After Shannon says she'll always wonder about pregnancy, Maya says, "I had a miscarriage. And to answer your question about pregnancy, it was amazing. And heartbreaking." Uh????

There's something about this book that's so... generic. It reads like all the other generic lesbian novels. Shannon is supposed to be in her 40s, a soon-to-be-grandma, a woman who has faced horrible loss, but she reads like, well, Generic Character A. And Maya is just Generic Character B. I'm almost falling asleep...

An overexcited "easily bonds with main character and talks a mile a minute" manic character named Alice. THIS BOOK IS YOUNG ENOUGH. STOP THIS.

Focusing on curves. "Mocha" skin. Green eyes. Published in 2015. This book is young enough to know better...
