I can only read a few pages at a time because the neglect Lainie experienced makes me sick to my stomach. And she lived it. Every day. Having met Lainie recently at a conference, reading about her childhood feels extra cruel - and I ache to know more. Thank you, Lainie, for sharing your story with the world.

This book is written by a former foster child, foster mom, adoptive mom who is daily breaking generational patterns of poverty and, must I say, much more than "simply neglect."
So proud of this friend being brave to share her story. It is her reality and yet is not for the faint of heart to even digest the words on its pages.

I have been waiting for this book to come out... Thankful for this brave friend to publish her story.

And as I dip my pinky toe into it, I already know it is one that I will have to read in very tiny bite sized pieces... It will take intentional digesting every step of the way.
