Currently reading the chapter about "Sexual Abuse". The book reports some real cases that infuriate me so much while reading that I guess I need one of those squishy balls to calm me down!

Great statistics, but she is far too fixated on women CEO's (lack of) and upper management. Disproportionate number of contenders vs. women with ordinary jobs who would like to advance or have more pay & respect.

"A state trooper who wanted leave to care for a newborn while his wife was disabled from delivery complications was told that she had to be “in a coma or dead” for him to qualify as a primary caregiver." - The women's movement resulted in a huge increase of equality, but there's still a lot of sexism and gender inequality to be fought. And men also face serious discrimination, namely when it comes to paternity leave.

She says a lot of things that resonate, and I love her quote from Robin Morgan. Agree that third wave must find its own way but needs to establish leadership, even with cyberspace...will she talk about the need to reinstate Affirmative Action?

Why yes, thank you, I AM a feminist! This book is timely indeed. Glad to see someone who holds impeccable credentials writing it.
