I also liked learning more about Olivia in this book. And the character depth that resulted from that.

I love it when a sequel book is equally as good as the first book, if not better. That was the situation with this book. I liked this book as much as The Last Rhee Witch, if not more. It was incredibly well written and I loved Ronnie's character development towards the end of the story.

I'm not surprised that Ronnie was selfless wrt helping Olivia.

'I like that you care about other people but don’t let them walk all over you.'

This was a kind thing for Jack to say about Olivia. ☺️

I can learn from Olivia's mindset. It's good to be assertive and I need to work on being more assertive.

She had been so focused on her own pain that she failed to notice she was hurting Sam.

This was great self awareness on Ronnie's part.

That chapter ended on a hell of a cliffhanger. 😯

It's interesting that gi can intensify a person's emotions. In this case, gi intensified Ronnie's guilt.

Forcing Olivia against her will didn’t sound like best friend behavior.

This reminds me of something that one of my family members said last fall. I agree with this sentiment wholeheartedly. I'm glad that Jenna Lee-Yun had Ronnie realize this idea about friendship and being a good friend.

Sam made a great point when he told Ronnie that people aren't all good or all bad. There are exceptions to this in extreme cases, but the general idea resonated with me.

I could relate to some of Ronnie's feelings in this chapter. Poor fictional kiddo. 😥😔

I liked learning about the different type of touchstones related to the dokkaebi as well. It's cool that the touchstones have different colors.

I'm not into Disney as much as I used to be, but the fact that Ronnie and her friends are trying to find the gumiho's weakness reminds me of Hercules. 😆 Since Hades wanted to find Hercules's weakness.

I learned more about a certain character's history with the gumiho. I'd like to finish this chapter, but as usual, I'm too tired. 😅😆

The gumiho was more manipulative than I thought, but that's the point of their character. They've (the gumiho) given this book an eerie tone, which I appreciate. 😝 Eerie middle grade books can be fun to read.

I'm surprised by the identity of the gumiho. I thought for sure that it'd be Not-Mom. 😯 That was one cleverly written plot twist. Unless Not-Mom possessed another character. 🤔

I need to be more awake when I'm reading about the gumiho. Otherwise I'll struggle with reading and information comprehension. 😅 But yeah, Ronnie and Sam are learning about the gumiho right now.
