It’d have been bad enough to have a 28 year old “accidentally” claim his 14 year old cousin’s first heat, and have their family force them to mate to keep face. And he would have hated every second of it and become emotionally abusive and cruel.
No the guy had to have been a bully, had to have been alpha/alpha all along, had to have planned to have him killed, had to still seek chaos even after death?? Jfc

Yeah I need to take a break, it’s late and I don’t actually enjoy this book at all. My hate reading can fun but it’s gettin stretched thin.

Wynter just isn’t an enjoyable character at all

Also, over 30 fucking years passed. (Almost 40 since that first heat) and all he did was be an asshole to everyone. Because he was scared and depressed. I mean it sucks but yea

Everyone is forgiving him being a crappy person way too easily imo. Only Rohan was on the fence but wouldn’t refuse Gray offering a grandpa spot. Rohan being “if you hurt them, I hurt you” is the only sane reaction. And Vaughn’s too.

But yeah this book has literally no plot except trauma dump and villainizing Wynter’s parents and Warden. Having Wynter be the innocent victim of it all who’s a martyr and sacrificed so much. I mean yes he was 14 when he got his first heat and got pregnant by his cousin. And he was 19 when he met Cav. He was just a child for it all and he was abused and scared.

Warden had to be a bully to his cousins and be alpha/alpha. sure bc villains in this story have to have no redeeming qualities (not that alpha/alpha is bad, have fun my guys), he had to be cruel from the start. He couldn’t have become cruel from circumstances

Did Gray never meet Vaughn while pregnant? Maybe, not sure but Wilder definitely knew, so what gives. Plus it’s not like Warden and Wynter were very discreet in their hate of the surrogacy and how it came to be. Don’t try to change history
