Status Updates From The Overcomer: God's Answer...

The book concludes with Overcoming Hell - and I agree with the author. Hell is the greatest obstacle to overcome. Sadly, many people believe heaven is an automatic destination when they die. The Bible tells otherwise.

This has been a wonderful read and a book I may want to read again because it's filled with wisdom on how to use God's Word to overcome whatever comes my way.

Chapter 9 - Overcoming Impatience reveals what waiting on God truly means. Yes;, as Christians we may say we are waiting on God; but are we? Do we truly know how to wait on God?

In this chapter James Collins provides three principles for readers to be aware of as they wait upon the Lord.

Are we willing to wait 40 years for a loved one to be saved? With God all things are possible.

Chapter 8 - Overcoming Fear identifies key areas where people can be fearful. As with the other chapters, what the author shares is thought-provoking. He also mixes in some humor which is a great addition. One story in particular caused us to laugh out loud. Nothing like a good belly laugh to start the day.

Can't wait to start the next chapter. It's about overcoming impatience!

Chapter 7 - Overcoming Temptations is phenomenal. Yes, there are many thing satan tries to tempt us with, but praise be to God, we can overcome him. This book shows readers how they can defeat satan at his own game. Hallelujah!

We finished reading Chapter 6 - Overcoming Spiritual Deadness

Yes; what James Collins says in this chapter is very true. Many churches today have no life in them. Thus they are filled with spiritually-dead individuals whom wonder where God is when trials come their way. This is so unfortunate.

Jesus wants to revive a dead church. I pray those whom desire revival will welcome Jesus in and let Him have His way..

Chapter Five deals with Overcoming Loss in its various forms: loss of a loved one through death or divorce; lost of a marriage; loss of a job; loss of a significant relationship.

I love how the author addresses each of these losses. He gives biblical accounts and personal stories to help readers move past their loss towards a brighter tomorrow.

Another great book written by James Collins. We're only part way through and he's made us laugh, cry, and come to understand that with God,we can overcome whatever comes our way.

I will begin reading this book tomorrow morning and I can hardly wait. I expect to be encouraged and enlightened by what James Collins has to share. He is a phenomenal writer and teacher of the Word.

I just read the chapter on overcoming loss. Wonderful book.

I enjoy reading the chapters in this book.

The combination of humor, anecdotes and Biblical wisdom makes this book enjoyable to read.
