Honestly, I have found it hard to connect with the characters...not exactly sure why?!

Okay, right now things are bad. Not bad in the usual way New Adult is bad, but bad in terms of narrative and plot devices.

I'm not saying this is bad, not at all. Given that this is New Adult, it's decent. However, the narrative focuses more on the main characters' lust for each other rather than their personalities. So far I am yet to know a single thing about these people that isn't stated in the blurb. And that is even with both characters having screwed up pasts (which we know little about).

Editing. I require editing. This sex scene is devoid of emotion, and mos importantly, sexual tension. Or any sexy atmosphere. The reader was thrown into it without any good build up, and I'm left here hurrying to catch up with the told feelings of the characters.

But there was something different about her.

Special snowflake is special.

And that naivety made her all the more sexy.

Okay, I get it, some guys get off on virginal and innocent women, but the percentage of those guys in New Adult is disturbing.

So far so good. Nothing special yet. A little predictable. But honestly, in New Adult, I'm not asking for much. Although, given my record, it seems not asking for much is asking for all the gold in the world.

Did she really not understand what she did to probably every guy she made contact with? She was a walking, talking wet dream.

Another one of my issues. It's not All guys. And yes, this is bothering me more than it should.

I'm not going to lie here... I have a general dislike for books that mentions other books. Like, the main character needs to point out the exact title and the author's name in the narrative. It doesn't tell me shit. It seems like a cheap way to promote the author's writing buddies. I'm not saying its wrong, but it doesn't do anything for me, it could've a well been a blank space in the middle of the paragraph.

I think I've decided which line is the worst ever. Are you ready?
