Status Updates From Poetry Prescription: Joy

I read this on a train when it was raining:
"I love the sound of rain. And pauses between words. The splashes. And the gaps between leaves falling, dripping with rain. (...) The dots and dashes. I love the sound of the sky leaking, the pink pink on corrugated zinc, the sound of a roof under hail. Roots

Mum's grown out her grey
less foil less dye

I've stopped wiping colour
corrector all over my face
chalky mint green

she says isn't it funny how we dress
sloppy now just casual
whatever we want -

I want to say I think we are so beautiful
sat outside the coffee shop
being honest in the
cold.
