I had forgotten it was a Christmas romance. The holidays are mentioned less than magic, and that's saying much.

Oh, so hair dryers actually exist here. That makes the magic so much more special! Not.

And now she's drying her hair faster with magic. I thought this was a modern setting, but apparently luxury hotels don't have hair dryers. Maybe they haven't been invented in this world. They have smartphones and the internet, but not hair dryers or keys, I guess.

Woohoo, the fourth use of magic! This time it was warming coffee! How exciting! Not.

OMG, the third sex scene, pretty much back to back with the other two. It's getting tiresome.

Oh, and somehow, sleeping naked on top of someone and waking up with them is less intimate than kissing. Yeah, no.

He doesn't know why he calls her "moon", he just does. Nicknames don't work like that. Calling her "June" is one thing, that's shortening her name, but a random word out of your ass is not romantic, it's stupid. And the fact that the character reflects on the fact he doesn't know why he uses that random word makes it worse.

Round two, and now he's eating her up. Again I ask: how's that less intimate than kissing? And let's not forget how she's horny because he's a controlling, entitled asshole.

OMG, he's not even using a freaking condom? Tell me again how that's less intimate than kissing.

To avoid kissing on the mouth because it's "too intimate" but letting his mouth touch everything else, feels kinda hypocritical. Like literally, he kisses her EVERYWHERE on her body but the lips on her face. How's that less intimate than just kissing?

Did he just think she looked like a traffic cone? And that it "suits" her? How is that a compliment? Because that's how the author seems to want the reader to take this inner monologue about fMC.

One third of this and all the "magic" is she retrieving her phone, she avoiding spilled coffee and she locking the door. Please tell me how that's magic. All of it could be non-magical and absolutely nothing would change about the story. This always seems like the author wanted to tap into the paranormal romance market without putting any effort into it.
