Status Updates From Eye of the Monkey

I can't tear myself away from this novel. Tóth's storytelling is incredibly clever: we leap between characters, points in time, and quotidian details that are more engrossing than they have any business being.

I don’t get the point why this is set in a so called dystopian future with this abstract authoritarian government. It is said that this government has formed the characters of the protagonists but there is no mention of how this happened. Only the meanderings of discontent characters unable to free themselves from their habits.
