Status Updates From All's Fair in Love and Blac...

~ Another item off my list—riding through the park to look at the trees. I even have Betsy back. And yet I still feel restless. I still feel discontented. I thought I might, but it’s discouraging nonetheless. I’m just starting to think I was right. This feeling I’ve been having is the desire to move forward—not with little things, but big things. Life things.

Me: yupppppppp

~ My heart thumps uncomfortably as the answer hits me: My people. I want my people surrounding me. My parents and sisters and brother. My friends. And… A husband. Children. Grandchildren. Great-grandchildren. I want it all. I want progress—real progress. What is life if not progression? In nature, stagnation invites rot and decay. It’s the flowing water that stays clean.

~ I am a special occasion. We all are. Our days should be as joyful as we can make them—and sometimes that means baking cake on a random weekend in August.

~ It means I collect editions of Pride and Prejudice. It means Elizabeth Bennet is my patronus. It means that when I start dating, I’m going to have Darcy-level high standards.

~ I go through the rest of my work day normally, despite the feeling that’s been growing inside of me—something restless and discontented. Nothing is wrong in my life. But nothing is happening, either. And I don’t know why, but that thought makes me…antsy.
