Fun start with likeable ppl and funny, believable scenarios where things get out of hand. The dvlpmnt is easy, a delight to read. But, once we start getting into the conflict involving Cal's mysterious past (which was disappointingly simplistic with nondescript, distanced villains), and their relationship attempts to deepen, the ppl start to feel juvenile and unreal. I question Cal's astonishing ability to lip read.

At about 95% this is the first time Josh has been mentioned in Cal's presence, but he acts like he knew all about him. Is it cuz you googled Jacob Reuban and read about it? I would have liked to see an actual conversation between the guys about Jake's effen marriage.

One thing I had really liked about this was that no one was comparing Cal to Josh. I'm not 12, I can have a HEA without you proving it's better that Jake's previous HEA.

Really?! I take offense to that. And the two main female characters are June Cleaver replicas, always feeding and taking care of "their boys". Because, you know, men can't take care of themselves without a good woman around. I was offended for women, now I'm offended for men!
