Status Updates From Seashells and Other Souvenirs

I’ve reached the turning point in Alex’s and Jude’s relationship! The paragraph where they hold hands for the first time is written perfectly. And I think my favorite scene in the book so far is when Alex invites Jude to write his own poems in her (now their) notebook, and she senses a change in their friendship. All of this blends perfectly with the coastal vibes!

This book has officially embedded its roots in me! It reads gently but provides just the perfect degree of seriousness that allows me to feel invested in the story. And I love Jude’s character! Reading Alex’s memories, I’m not entirely sure what she finds so special about Gavin, especially considering that it’s Jude who, alongside her cousins, understands her much better than anyone else.

So far, I’m definitely giving coastal summer vibes! Although I do think the main character, Alex, should allow herself to go with the flow. I’m of the opinion that when you’re at the beach, you should allow yourself to relax rather than filling your schedule with multiple activities. But perhaps this is just a character quirk, or maybe it’s hint for growth later on in the story!

I think this might be my new favorite beach read.

Okay this is adorable so far.

AHHH! I've been so excited to read this and now the day has come. I'm not even 30 pages in and I am HOOKED! I'm so in love with the cozy beachy feel that it has and the characters (especially a certain "boy with dark hair and glasses" 👀) have me completely captivated!

Cried a little again. So good!

The part about Alex's grandmama telling Jude she's proud of him made me cry a little. She reminds me of my Nana and Grandma.

This book is making me want to turn the mundane into adventures and eat tiny boxed cereal and cheese.

Ah this is so nostalgic even though I didn't experience these memories. Loving it!
