I should probably stick to romance that *doesn'* have a romantic suspense plot. It's making me way too anxious 🤣🤣🤣

I'm officially retracting my annoyance at 13% with the split timeline in the story. We haven't gotten to the actual romance yet, and I'm entirely sure I know who the evil mastermind is since it's telegraphed so hard, but the story is absolutely engrossing and I am a thousand percent sucked in and loving it 😁

I'm loving the worldbuilding here (although eek! It's also scarily plausible for a climate-challenged future IRL...) but I've always disliked the storytelling convention of alternating between past and present storylines. It just makes me too anxious... and this one (per the TOC) alternates between past and present right through the end 😭 So far, I'm still here for it, though!
