See this stuff really just doesn’t hit like it’s supposed to. I think I just don’t like the characters and I feel like the bits we get about their previous relationship didn’t feel romantic enough for me

I haven’t read many second chance romances but this one feels off. Like I feel like the yearning and care between these two didn’t really pay off now that we’re at the end.

Haha I love the Jamaicans in this, reminds me of my friend’s parents, honestly they’re the best part of this novel. Also she was ready to fight like a real G

One of my favorite romance tropes ever is when a man who usually doesn’t fight or get angry easily squares the fuck up because he hates the way his person was disrespected!! Literally the best trope why was I denied this ☹️

Why won’t they ever let men FIGHT in these contemporary romances like I want them to throw hands like this is fiction I wanna see my man square up a bit. It’s like nobody wants FUN and DRAMA in their novels anymore!!!

He’s right but also nobody in the history of ever talks about identity politics like this?? Like is just a clunky & unnatural way to talk about racial injustice

I think this book would’ve been better if this was something we and the MC knew the entire time. I feel like second chance romances hit a lot harder when we know that the lovers were deeply in love before it all fell apart rather whatever this is smh

Girl what that’s such a lame excuse & lacks so much character depth

The way this man just forgives her without any logical reason or real effort on her part to like show him that she’s a better person…smh this reunion feels very unwarned

This book does a lot of work to show how Wale is actually the good guy and is soooo misunderstood 🙄 but then never actually answers the fundamental question of why he was a fuck boy on love island in the first place???

This story is trying to make the male love interest forgive the MC but even I’m like nah…throw her away smh

The way this lady doesn’t deserve it smh

This is the first third act breakup that I’m unsure of how they’ll resolve it
