so far most of the things i’ve heard are things i already learned during my comm degree…

…but my comm prof was the one who recommended this book…

A book about the need to pressure big tech to act more responsibly in the face of additive technologies? Count me in.

On one hand I can understand the effectiveness of regulating access to addictive materials. How do you as a parent deal with peer pressure about tech? On the other, the author shows she is less discerning about what her children have access to and being like “how could they allow this to be downloaded?!?”

Ok ok she has points and she’s covering ground with tobacco, alcohol, etc. many of the reviews talking about personal responsibility are just bringing up shit she talks about.
However her saying “an internet in 1939 would have prevented the horrors of the holocaust that followed” is hella rich. Like hello????
