An excellent in-depth study of the workings of silent film from the bare bones to the finished product. The book is highly thought provoking and had me thinking of components of silent film creation that I had never thought of before, such as the speed at which silent films were shot and then later shown. Ben Model served us a gem with this book! There was a missing market for the technical side, and he filled it.
