Status Updates From No Shelter But the Stars

okay i’m a little tired of the “single villain in a fantasy/sci fi novel instead of dealing with the whole system of imperialism” but like i get that it makes the ending easier

Definitely an interesting read and a great world but again the writing just wasn’t for me. The characters were likeable but I didn’t connect with them or their romance sadly

“I belong here,” she says. It’s nowhere near enough and will have to suffice. “With you.”
When Davia turns her head to bring them face to face, tears glint in Davia’s eyes. Kyran closes her eyes at the sensation of Davia’s lips against her own and tastes the salt she herself can’t spare.”

This is genuinely such a me problem tho. It really is beautifully written I just only connect with characters when the book is literally inside their brain. if I don’t connect with the characters then it’s hard for me to enjoy a book

It feels like the beginning of a book (Freida mcfadden comes to mind) when you get a prologue and the way it’s written makes you curious for more and you don’t actually understand why/how any of that has happened. But this isn’t a prologue so it’s not like we’ll find it out later on in the story 😭
