I remembered just now that even in the original story that GuMang and MoXi go on this trial, however in that one GuMang later gets into trouble because he uses medicine meant for nobles to cure a poor commoner village, but in this story he is kinda considered a noble so Ig he doesn't get into trouble. Anyway this side story was cute and we got to follow them on this trial that is mentioned at the beginning ☺️

MoXi got possessed by the lust ghost and kissed/bit GuMang's lips until they started to bleed. They found out the ghosts backstory and that the lady that they took a shelter in during their first night was already dead...

The extra 18 chapters is an alternate story if Murong Lian and GuMang were known as brothers already from the start. In which MoXi joins the Cultivation Academy and goes on trial with GuMang disguised as a woman. MoXi truly believes that GuMang is a woman lol, it's hilarious because GuMang keeps teasing him.

GuMang and MoXi reunited in the after life, but were then given the reversal stone which helped them come back to life again. However only Murong Lian knows that they are back as they live with him and help him open up Wangshu Academy. Murong Mengze turned out to be a man in disguise, he becmae the emperor. Jiang Fuli together with Su Yurou decided to travel the world so that he could get to know himself more.

MoXi went back in time using the Reversal Stone only to find out that he couldn't change time only fullfill a pothole. He was the one who had removed one of Gumang's soul. When he came back he learns that he has the Spirit Beast in him and can choose to unleash it and kill the DemonBlood Beast and die in the process.
