Medium pace until approx 80% now fast paced and exciting. Hard to turn off/put down story

I love that the reader is constantly left questioning whether the supernatural or natural world is the cause of the events that occur throughout the narrative - could it be the devil as some locals believe or is there a scientific and real world explanation for the events like human actions and bugs etc.

The narrator is really calming and enjoyable to listen to. I like her pacing, her vocal emphasis and different voices for different characters spoken sentences
