I’ve reached the point that Aicha has become unlikeable so this may be the end of the road for me.

Aicha’s religion filed judgement isn’t sitting well with me. It’s making her hard to like so I’m hoping that her character development takes her somewhere less strictly religious.

Promising start.

i like it alot so far but my migraines have been kicking me in the ass so i havent read much

I was excited for this after other great POC uprising books this year but Aicha is a struggle. Terrible pacing - 45% is way too long for introduction, it should have been 20% max. Action finally starts around the 50% mark but I’m already too divorced from characters & story. Also very concerned over the casual misogyny & male-on-female violence that the author doesn’t care to frame as bad.
