This book gives me headache, too many ideas, concepts and facts are all mixed together. Too much subjective, biased opinions on Hong Kong history and social issues and the personality/behavior/motives of local politicians. I am going to Do Not Finish this book.

I'm dumbfounded. at one point the author said we should places traditional culture above all, and then the next thing I know the author said stuff about how Hong Kong's culture is the mixture of Chinese culture and British culture.

Oh god, make up your damn mind about it!

fuck, it's getting worse, the author keeps accusing other groups and organizations for being selfish, having hidden agendas and wanting to destory Chinese traditional culture, but where is the evidence?

The author accuses the worker union for being half-hearted and unwilling to win the battle. So the worker strikes became unsuccessful.

My reaseon: Screw you! You go trying to lead a worker strike against the strongest and most powerful consortium in HK and then end up being the winner of the struggle before you start accusing people and organization you dislike!

it sucks to hear the author accusing people when he only has his words to back his accusations.

it's confirmed thay the author is just a story teller, not a serious historian or researcher.

I understand what the author is trying to say, he has some fine poihts, but do not agree with his imagation of Hong Kongers as an ethnic group.

wait a second! the author says British had ruled Hong Kong well because British government was a kind ruler?! then how about all the Indians they murdered when they ruled India?! WTH?!

The author talks about the importance of forming an United States of China...well I don't disagree with it, but how should it work out?
