This book is giving set in the Highlands of Scotland vibes especially since highlands has been mentioned 12 times so far but the girlies went to explore Edinburgh? I’m SO confused

The plot itself is not just a slow burn—it’s a super slow burn, to the point where I find myself wondering if anything is actually going to happen. The pacing drifts, weighed down by descriptions that feel more atmospheric than purposeful. I’m hoping the story eventually pays off, but right now it feels like style is winning over substance.

So far, I’ve noticed that turning on heels, smirking, and breath hitching appear every few pages—it’s hard not to unsee once you catch the pattern. I tend to blame the editors when repetition like that slips through. There’s also an almost obsessive focus on the way people breathe—every inhale, exhale, and pause is described in cinematic detail, but it rarely adds depth to the story.
