Status Updates From Langue[dot]doc 1305

A very disappointing read. I kept expecting something interesting to happen but it never did. Just a long, sometimes choppy, description of life in the 1300s as seen by an odd collection of time traveling "scientists".

DNF. The prose style is staccato. I could just about get uses to it if the world building and the characters were compelling. Alas, I didn't find them so and cared no jot about any of the people and could hardly tell some of them apart. My suspended belief crashed when the time travellers in mediaeval Languedoc had electricity and wifi. At 33% the 2 worlds had yet not met, the one interesting thing about time travel!

Struggling to finish this one - has not captured me.

Characters are developing nicely. Omni narrator but serial POVs interesting choice,

I read just enough to know that this is shaping up to be an exceptional treat for those who like both geeky scientists and historians who understand different paradigms. Such a rare combo, and some first-rate character sketches in the opening. Woo!
