The critique of History and Class Consciousness by Lukács is very strong. I sorta see where this part of the book is going for, but I feel like it detours a little far from the political economy-heavy part one. If someone isn't very familiar with Lukács and Weber, they'd be lost.

Last chapter was an absolute banger. This chapter critiquing the influence of Weber is very challenging though.

I sorta understand the argument about why the nuclear family is in to the capital system, but I think I'll need to reread it.

Very interesting stuff so far, Meszaros is carefully laying out the pieces for his arguments... I wonder how he'll tie this together?
