Slow going on this one because it really is a historical fiction and not a "traditional romance" so I need to be in the right mindset. It's good, though. so it's not the book's fault but a personal failing.

still no FMC POV, liking it a lot

quite a bit of heavy/emotional infertility stuff and no FMC POV (yet?) and I am appreciating how proud he is that his wife is a b****

The story draws you in as you watch Galeran try to cope with having been a faithful husband while on Crusade rushing home to find his wife unfaithful and his young son dead.

Having a bit of trouble getting engaged. It's likely due to my mindset plus this is my first medieval story so I haven't quite got my frame of mind in place yet.

Wow, these chapters are long. I’m not used to this (anymore?).

Spoiler alert. I guess I never thought of seduction as a way to rail at God, for doing something evil because one is angry at God.

Galeran seems hot & cold ... forcing Jeanne to divulge more than she is offering, and yet when she expounds even further, (about their now departed son) he tells her to stop and sends her away. 🤷🏻‍♀️
