I'll give it this - it's a very quick read (thankfully) but man oh man do I wish there was just more to this!! More background, more world building, more explanation on... everything, more character development, more plot

It has so much potential!!! Let's see how the back half goes

I'm really trying to power through this bc it's an arc but I feel 0 connection with any of these characters, the tense switching is driving me crazy, it feels like I'm reading an abbreviated version of every fantasy book ever made, and the plot has gone nowhere

So far there have been 3 "main character" deaths, at least 14 characters named, 4 areas of the kingdom have been explored, and barely any background information has been given to any of these "developments". I feel lost
