Status Updates From Beckoning of the Gate: The ...

Halfway there. Should hopefully be finished tomorrow or the day after.

Her eyelids flung open. The Calig lay sprawled on the ground, grimacing and breathless. He rose to one knee, a hand to the flattened grass
to steady himself. ‘Santha … what’s wrong?’ He reached for her, and she batted him away.
‘How dare you?’ she hissed. ‘How dare you!’” I appreciate how realistic Santha’s trauma is and how it is not conveniently swept under the rug.

I have had less time to read today than I hoped but I have to say how much I (still) love Biahnd and Santha’s growing relationship. One of their scenes made me almost cry! I am not ready for what is to come.

“Despite her best efforts, Biahnd showed little interest in proper conversation. Instructions, however, she delivered with zeal. How very like Dandon.” I love how much personality Biahnd already has. She is such an interesting character and I have immediately fallen in love with her!

“‘Why don’t you want me to see my goats?’ she asked.” Do not mess with Santha and her goats, Dandon!

Poor Santha. It just keeps getting worse for her.

"Anger, then. That, at least, she could use.” I only now got to starting this and I immediately feel so bad for Santha! But she is also fierce in her own way and I am excited to follow her journey.

I’m already irritated. Pls 😭
