Do you make wreaths out of fir?
No - white pine. Better shaping.

Luckily the lift isn’t running, so there’s no electricity running through the cables, and they’re safe to touch.
(Huh. I thought the cables were just ropes, essentially, and what ran the chair lifts was mechanical, with clamps holding each chair onto the cable and sets of wheels looping the cable along.)

Second story done: Red Coats
I was surprised by “whodunnit” … I hadn’t even recalled hearing that character’s name … maybe I wasn’t paying close enough attention earlier in the story. 😖

Emily, did you know the first ornaments were glass apples?
A drought wiped out the real ones, so German craftsmen made glass versions to replace them.
Not really. Actually, glass ornaments have been around since the 1840’s but that story makes for a bit of festive folklore.

Agh - left on a cliffhanger and this was the best one so far! Now to wait 11 months to find out what happens.

Okay. I’m not entirely surprised by “whodunnit” … but still a fun first story. Welcome back to Fletcher’s Grove, Emily. 😃

Okaaay … Rachel [aspiring author] is a little intense. Which is a nice way of saying she’s annoying.

Fletcher’s Grove, like any small town, is a snow globe. It may get shaken up, but it eventually settles back to what it has always been.
