“We immediately identity categorize, diagnose, and try to control every emotion. Opening it up, it turns out, has closed down our language, reducing complicated feelings to medical labels…We are so determined to destigmatize mental health issues that we've started to stigmatize being human, having human reactions to things.”

Such a good introduction speaking to the great harm social media has had on girls since it was born. Interested to see how the rest of the book is and since I grew up with the beginnings and rise of socials, seeing the negative effects , how familiar and relatable her overall thesis; is even thus far.
