Status Updates From An Inheritance of Lies

Two chapters in, I can't really say much about the characters or plot yet, but I'm not vibing with the writing. So many times I'm stumbling over awkward word choices or awkward sentence structures. So many times I'm thinking "that sentence doesn't even mean anything, what exactly is this trying to tell me?" Not sure if I want to make myself wade through the writing long enough to actually get to the story...
