Status Updates From Jacaranda: A Novel

This last bit was so hard. One shocking abomination after another. Hutu against Tutsi, neighbour against neighbour, and for what? Endless depravity. But when these savage mobs turned their attention to the barns, I knew I was in trouble. Now, hours later, still hiccuping after sobbing for the unspeakable, monstrous atrocities against these defenseless, innocent, gentle animals... I don't know how I can ever forget.
