The author has the series based in Alaska and using indigenous ways "loosely." As a Yup'ik and Inupiaq here in Alaska, I dont know how i feel about this. The characters aren't mentioned as indigenous. I really like the story line but feel like she didn't need to go that route unless the author herself is indigenous. There are more grammatical mistakes in the 2nd book as opposed to the 1st. So far 2.75 🌟

Genuinely it's so repetitive about the strain of incomplete bonds. I really want to like this series. but it's poorly edited and it just doesn't feel like it's moving. We're over half way through and Nothing has happened.
