Status Updates From Unpredictable Magic

This story is not what I was expecting from Angie and EJ! It feels like a wartime story and I'm not sure what's really going on! I do like that EJ has his father's magic,

Look I like this book. I like the dynamics between Walter and the siblings. The story is interesting but I still feel like there is so much context missing. What are the different powers. What does he mean by Delta power, WHAT exactly is the magic system. If the other aeries has to be read in order for this to be fully understand that should have been included in the blurb on Goodreads and the authors website

Some of the political background and world building makes me feel lost. I looked into it and apparently this is the same world as the authors previous series (which I didn’t like so I never finished). On occasions this has read as if I was missing background information, which sucks bc the blurb definitely doesn’t mention this is a spin off series

The audio book narrator is doing a fantastic job. The story line is also really interesting

Enjoying for the most part. Standard “I want to be normal, not a princess/prince” trope remains annoying.
