How have I never read this series before? I’m already obsessed.

It’s ok, just got kinda bored.

And…I left myself on a cliff hanger, but I need to head to bed!!! Pretty shocking to me that Torkel left Faye in the hands of the slavers for a month, yet after (accidentally) reading a small snippet of the next chapter, I can understand his hesitancy because of her betrayal. I knew that bribe / black mail was going to be a problem. I just hope Torkel will save Faye and Lindsey soon - no more torture!!!

Definitely enjoying the plot so far. The right amount of “lust” combined with the right amount of “falling in love”. And the kidnapping attempt was unexpected yet really amped up the tension. I’m very nervous about the “formal complaint” about the choosing because of the bribe Faye took. Will that disqualify Torkel and her relationship? When will she tell him???

2 chapters in, and I’m appreciating the world and character building. I really like the relationship Torkel has with his adoptive mother, and the author did a great job of making you feel bad for Torkel. I’m upset, like I always am, with the money and bribe situation whoever the friend is talking to Faye, and of course I’m aware that’s going to become a huge problem between the two characters in the end.

I can see the completely avoidable, heartbreaking betrayal coming and I just can't.

Halfway through this book and I'm also annoyed at the main character; I can't catch a break! Another novel where if the characters JUST TALKED WITH EACH OTHER HONESTLY things would get resolved...but no. I get that it adds drama and all but it's so grating! Probably will read something else as a palate cleanser and then come back to this one.

I really don’t like when the main female is hiding a big dangerous secrete from her male. Especially putting him in danger. Too cowardly.
I might have to stop listening.
A guy is blackmaling her . And she is telling him things about her husband. Sooo bad
