The medical gore in this book is a lot 😢 Dont worry, it's age appropriate! But this is a trigger of mine and I didn't realize from the (helpful) foreword the author included how pervasive it would be. So if you have triggers for facial and cranial medical trauma read with caution! It's really good, though. 🥰 The VIBES.

This book DRIPS atmosphere and the pacing is so perfectly, classically gothic. I'd also recommend this book to people who want older YA that is clearly written for kids who are about to go into college or thinking about what they're going to be like when they're adults while still hanging onto the comforts of childhood. This book captures that indecision perfectly and reads like a dark coming of age.
